Who we are

John C. Cook (Executive Director - Zurich) has been an international executive and investment banker for over 25 years having done business in over 30 countries. He has held senior positions in marketing and finance with International Harvester (Chicago, Brussels) covering the Middle East; Merrill Lynch International (Brussels); and Security Pacific Merchant Bank (Frankfurt) as Abteilungsdirektor for Business Development.

Mr. Cook is a graduate of Purdue University (BSIM) and of Thunderbird School of Global Management (MBA), and completed advanced studies at the University of Washington (Seattle) and Oxford University (England). He is a founder and director of WJ Hopper & Co., is active in fund origination, client management and fund distribution, as well as the development of its international network. John C. Cook is a speaker at various private equity conferences; serves on the Thunderbird Global Council; founded and chairs the Thunderbird Private Equity Center; and was the 2003 recipient of the Thunderbird Jonas Mayer Award. He lives in Zurich with his wife and daughter.
